David Gonzalo Serrano

¡Hola a todos!,

I am David, a first-year Spanish student studying Bsc Data Science.

Throughout the past year, I have immersed myself in every facet of our society's activities, from being part of the football team to going to all of the social events. My active participation is a testament to my commitment and my will to maintain and improve the events throughout next year.

As president, my vision is to craft an inclusive and dynamic society that not only celebrates our rich heritage but also welcomes the diversity that UCL prides itself on. I'm excited about the prospect of organizing events that reflect our culture, such as padel tournaments, paella and Spanish food picnics, a good winter ball with Spanish societies from other universities and more events with other societies at UCL.

Moreover, I aim to foster a space where our English-speaking friends, who share an enthusiasm for Spanish, feel integral to our community. I plan on increasing the number and quality of the Spanish classes that we offer, as well as organizing intercultural language exchange events and Spanish film nights that open a window to a more entertaining way of learning Spanish.

Join me in this venture to amplify the essence and importance of our culture at UCL.

¡Nos vemos pronto!

Lola Pereda Cabrera

Hi everyone!

My name is Lola and I’m currently studying Bsc History, Politics and Economics at UCL. And I’m excited to announce that after having formed part of the society for the past year, I have decided to run for the position of President.

I believe the Spanish and Latin American society is the best way to spread our culture around London and keep bringing people into our community.

Building upon the success of the past year, with remarkable events and activities, I believe we can still offer more opportunities and experiences to the members of the society. After seeing the demand for the weekly Spanish classes I aspire to broaden the class offerings. As well as continue to hold intercollegiate events with other Hispanic societies around the city. In addition to hosting more cultural events like tapas nights, pub crawls, sports tournaments, and movie nights….These expansions aim to share the cultural richness of the Spanish-speaking world with a bigger student audience and stimulate Hispanic dialogue among students.

Drawing upon my prior experiences and driven by my ambitious goals for the society, I believe I possess the ideal profile to assume the responsibilities of President in the upcoming year.

I extend my gratitude for your time and consideration, and sincerely hope to earn your support in the coming year :)
