Spanish and Latin American Society: Head of Social Events

Having moved to study abroad, from Spain to the UK, has been a challenging yet incredible experience in which I have been able to meet people from all over the world whilst still being able to be in contact with my roots through the Spanish and Latin American Society. From attending the cultural fair event to going to several European Nights, I have been able to engage with the society’s events and members from a close proximity.

Nevertheless, looking towards next year and the future of the society and looking forward to organising many more years full of exiting events, I propose to create further links with other societies in London universities, not only European centric. Having spoken with non-Hispanic people about the events hosted by the society I believe that we should look to attract people from all over the world with our cultural and night club events, something which would expand our social media platform. I also propose to expand on the society’s cultural events such as going on guided museum tours, seeing that London is a  hub for cultural opportunities, creating traditional Hispanic movie nights and other interactive events.

I am looking forward to welcome next year’s freshers so they have the opportunity to meet people at the start of the year, and more importantly to encourage them to become involved and engaged in the society.
