Hi, I’m Selin and, as a first-year student, I have felt incredibly welcomed by the Snowsports Society. As a candidate for Trip Secretary, I’d be thrilled to plan unforgettable adventures for our society. With a focus on creating memorable experiences, I’ll ensure each trip is carefully curated to highlight the best of what Snowsports has to offer. By highlighting the demand for these trips, we'll attract more participants and create a buzz around our events.
Collaborating with Social Secretaries, we’ll organise and capture every moment, showcasing the fun and excitement that defines our trips. Despite not having a strong racing ability or background, I kept attending races and events and was determined to give it a go. Through this attendance, I have thoroughly enjoyed the trips and events we've gone on and I aim to continually make these experiences memorable for our future members.
I am a detail-orientated and organised person, particularly when it revolves around planning trips, and my passion for Snowsports as well as my attention to detail and ability to plan fun trips will ensure everyone has a fantastic time hitting the slopes.
I think we can all agree that the most anticipated events organised by the snow sports society are the two ski trips! As trip secretary I would like to make sure that the trips run as smoothly as possible and that everyone can enjoy their time throughout. I also hope to be as approachable as possible so people can come and talk about any issues related to the trip, so I’m able to help assist and fix them, to make sure they have a great time.
I am deeply passionate about creating memorable experiences for our society members. I am an avid snowboarder and am fully committed to this society, ahead of all others.
Having participated in the Indoor Championships, Kings Series and the last two winter ski trips, I understand the power of well-coordinated trips and competitions.
I am excited about the opportunity to serve as the primary point of contact with third-party travel agencies, and to work closely with the President to make sure events are run to the exceptional standard expected in our society.
I am fully prepared to deal with all logistical aspects of the ski trips, and to brief our members, answer any questions and resolve all conflicts.
My commitment extends beyond logistics; I am eager to promote our events in the society and across UCL, working with the Media and Marketing Officer to get our trips out to as many people as possible.
I will proactively address any member inquiries, with detailed information in good time, to ensure a positive experience for all participants.
I aim to seamlessly integrate with committee and work closely with the Social Secretaries to get as many members as we can, out and about, having fun outside of just skiing and boarding.
I plan to work closely with the Treasurer and Vice President to ensure financial feasibility for our trips, and to bring in sponsorships and get great merch available to all our members.
Thank you for your consideration.
Hi all,
My name is Alex, and I'm currently in my penultimate year doing Politics and Economics. I'd like to consider myself as a friendly, outgoing and passionate individual, always happy to help those around me with whatever situation they find themselves in.
I'm keen to run for this role since I know how important our trips are to us and the general society. Additionally, over my last two years with the club, I have had plenty exposure to the various trips on offer, both social and competitive. This has enabled me to get a good feel for what a successful trip looks like, as well as help me develop a strong understanding of the networks and contacts needed to facilitate these. As the current external relations officer, I've already been involved in trip planning tasks, such as coordinating accommodation at BUDS. I'm eager to further develop my skills in this area and take on additional responsibilities that this role facilitates. I'm particularly interested in the advertising aspect of the role, as I believe it's crucial for generating interest and ensuring successful outcomes for our trips. This will be a portion of the job I will be specifically paying attention to.
Finally, I want to run for committee again since I have developed some of my closest friends through this club. I really enjoyed the family aspect of our team this past year, and I would love to keep this going into my final year at university.
Thanks and love,
Alex
I have reaped the hard work of the Snowsports committee this year and would now like to do more for the society by getting involved in running it. I am extremely motivated to become and to perform as trip secretary, and would love to deliver two excellent trips!
Trip secretary is exceptionally appealing to me because it is a clearly defined role with concrete duties both in trip and competition planning. I enjoy the organisational aspects of running events, even when they don’t run smoothly because I see these kinds of issues as a problem-solving challenge. Problem-solving is a strength of mine and I can't see a better way to indulge in these kinds of tasks than becoming trip sec. The stakes of organising trips for hundreds of people motivates me to deliver an even better experience, all whilst keeping costs to the society at a minimum.
If I were to be trip secretary I would look for the best deals for the society and negotiate with the travel agencies for their lowest prices, all whilst keeping enjoyment to a maximum! I hope you can vote for me as trip sec for this exciting new year to experience the best trips ever.
