Adelyn Tan

Hi Singsoc! I’m Adelyn and here’s why you should vote for me for Singsoc Events Director.

Why me?

I'm a positive leader who pays close attention to detail.  I thrive on maintaining a positive attitude even in tough circumstances. This adaptability ensures that I can handle challenges efficiently and find innovative solutions on the go.

I’m welcoming and approachable. I'm always ready to lend a helping hand and I'm open to ideas or any thoughts for upcoming events!

With past experiences running orientations and leading the peer leader board, I have developed a deep love for organising and executing events. SingSoc events like CNY dinners and picnics have allowed me to connect with fellow Singaporeans in London and understand the importance of providing support and comfort to newcomers.

My vision

I empathise with the anxiety of freshies and exchange students arriving in London. As juniors find their footing and embark on a journey of growth and adaptation in London, I hope to provide a taste of homely love and support whenever they feel homesick.

My approach

My approach will focus on intra-bonding within years, inter-bonding across batches, and a range of activities throughout the year. From bracelet-making sessions to movie nights for freshies, I aim to foster a sense of community and belonging within SingSoc.

I'm committed to making SingSoc a welcoming, familial, and supportive environment for all members. Thank you for your consideration! :)

Sarah Nahar Azmi

I am running for Events Director to enhance your Singsoc experience with EASE. Here's what I bring to the table:

Efficient Planning:

  • As a detail-oriented planner, I ensure clear communication among all stakeholders, delivering impactful results with minimal lag time.
  • As a Junior Committee member, I proposed for the set menu during the Christmas Lunch at Franco Manca, demonstrating my ability to create a hassle-free experience for members through strategic budgeting and planning.

Attendee Engagement:

  • I prioritise listening to the voices of event execs and Singsoc members to understand their event preferences.
  • Support each event sub-comm where needed while empowering them to take the lead.

Strategic Coordination:

  • Proposing small-scale, low-cost events and activity nights for a more relaxed and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Collaborating closely with the EXCO, I aim to organise our major events (Orientation, Boat Party and Spring Ball) with minimal hiccups, drawing on insights from past event heads.
  • Establishing connections within the KILU Network to offer networking events such as KILU scholar sharing.
  • Actively engaging with UCL Societies to foster collaboration, creating opportunities for cross-cultural experiences and diverse events.

Evaluation:

  • Facilitating open communication between members and the events team through feedback evaluation to identify areas for improvement and enhance overall event experiences in future.

Be part of the change, Vote Sarah with EASE!
