Hello! My name is Katherine, and I'm running for events officer :)

Those of you who comes to the Wednesday boardgames or rpg days or murder mystery events should all have met me at some point. I dedicate a consistent 5+ hours per week to being a nerd at this society and the rest of the time to being a nerd at home.

Here's why you should vote for me in very simple words:

- I'm fairly sociable so I know a fair amount of people. This will come in handy when you want to tell me what is a good movie and attempt to transform my (great) movie taste.

- I have held murder mystery games before, and have played 60+ murder mysteries (I know, who else could be that dedicated).

- I also have played 40+ escape rooms. I know this is not really a part of the agenda for the work of events officer. However, for those interested, I would love to organize potential room escape parties.

- This past school year I worked as publicity officer for Philosophy Society and representative for POLIS, so I have experience working on committees, organizing events, and dealing with the SU. For more of my work, visit the instagram for Philosophy society (this really is not a promotion I swear).

- I am a fluent user of a ton of social medias—making it super easy to contact me.

All in all, what more are you looking for in an events officer? If you are, well, contact me and we can talk about it.

Matthew Phillips

I love Sci-Fi and Fantasy society, and I am extremely enthusiastic about everything the society does. This academic year I have not missed a single weekly event.

In the last Christmas break I watched 22 movies, so it’s safe to say I would pick good movies (Morbius) for movie nights. I’m a big Star Wars and time travel fan so it's quite likely that I’d show a few movies based around those topics. In addition to this I am a big fan of Doctor Who and would love to watch a few episodes of the show as a society event.

As events officer I would run many events such as presentation nights, karaoke, gameshow nights and quizzes. I would be excited to run the termly murder mysteries as well. Also, I would be open to any suggestions on events I should organise and do my best to make them happen. If given the position I would strive to go above and beyond to bring the best experience for all members of the society.
