Kelly Chow

Hi, my name is Kelly & I am a 1st year Econ & Business student at SSEES!

I am standing as I would like to help others feel more integrated into the SSEES community, whether that means they are from within the department or instead just have an interest in learning more about the region. Overall what I hope to achieve is that people feel more welcome in the school’s society & find it a less daunting place, as had I did, especially when it comes to first joining.

My goals:

  1. To protect the welfare concerns of students within SSEES & beyond – particularly to those who may have any issues surrounding wellbeing or student satisfaction.
  2. Promote a happy environment for all students inside SSEES & project a voice for everyone in the department – particularly to those who are reserved or not 100% comfortable speaking out themselves individually.

Thank you for taking the time to read this & reach out or vote for me if you would like to!

Sasha Besedovska

Hi everyone!

My name is Sasha, and I am a first-year Politics, Sociology, and East European Studies student. I am running to be your Welfare and Engagement Officer this upcoming year!

If elected, I will:

Organise more social wellbeing events - students’s mental health is my no.1 priority. Social wellbeing events are crucially important to support students in challenging circumstances, and that is what I’m passionate about.

Continue making SSEES society a welcoming setting - SSEES is lucky to have so many students of diverse backgrounds. Only by working together, can we ensure SSEES society is a welcoming community, where everyone is treated with respect.

Increase Engagement - SSEES events should strive to appeal to all SSEES students. I will work closely with the Committee to diversify the range of events organised by SSEES Society.

As an Academic Representative for my course, I worked to address a wide range of problems that students encounter with their mental health and well-being. I look forward to continuing this important work if elected as your Welfare and Engagement officer
