Farida Ibrahim

As President of the School of Pharmacy, my foremost goal is to uphold the strong sense of community fostered by the previous committee whilst building upon the groundwork they laid. I intend to do that initially by expanding and enhancing our social and academic initiatives. Through hosting charity initiatives, inter-uni collaborations, BPSA conferences, crash courses, alumni career talks, and many more.

Having been a co-founder of MENA careers’ association and speaking with recruiters and UCL board members first-hand, I understand how important networking and extracurriculars are for every student’s representation. Therefore, within all these activities, I’ll work to provide extracurricular and networking opportunities to students.

Throughout my presidency, I also aim to collaborate with our union's education and sustainability officers to promote sustainability within our course and discuss extending support to more years of the MPharm and PGD programmes.

My experience at UCL, particularly as President of the UK’s largest Arab society, has equipped me with the skills necessary to effectively engage with diverse audiences and lead inclusively. Additionally, being Lead Academic Rep for two consecutive years has honed my ability to advocate for student concerns and communicate them persuasively to staff. These experiences have solidified my understanding of students' needs, making me well-equipped to serve as President and ensure that our community is bigger and better.
