Hey everyone!

Being part of RAX over the past year has been one of the best decisions I have made and I am very thankful for all of the amazing friends I have made along the way. One particular highlight for me has to be BUCS, which easily takes the trophy for the muddiest race I have ever done! I would love to be a part of the committee next year as XC Captain and hope to continue to support everyone taking part in these races - along with getting new runners involved! Other ideas I have for the society include:

- Changing up some of the social run routes so they are more varied each week

- Organising some trail running trips so we can get off the road more often!

And hopefully the RAX team can take back their rightful LUCA XC title next year!

Gautam Chauhan

Hi everyone, my name's Gautam and I'm running to be your next Cross Country Captain!

I've been a member of RAX for the last year and a half, and the supportive and welcoming atmosphere of the club has made it one of the highlights of my university experience so far. From Wednesday social runs to muddy cross country races, I've really enjoyed getting involved with everything the club has to offer, and would be thrilled to give others that experience as a member of the committee next year.

I think I'm well suited to be RAX's next cross country captain because I'm an experienced runner (having done cross country since the start of secondary school), I'm well organised and a good communicator, and I've had previous experience in leadership roles. Some of the things I would do in this role include:

  • Improving participation at the LUCA and BUCS cross country races, especially from newer athletes who may not have participated in competitions before.
  • Helping to ensure all of the cross country events run smoothly and are an enjoyable experience for everyone.
  • Continuing to incorporate cross country training into the weekly training schedule.

If you think I would make a good cross country captain, help me to cross the finish line by giving me a vote!

Kaitlin Hewitt

I’m standing for xc captain because I genuinely love cross country - as anyone who’s heard me cheer at LUCA can confirm- and want to encourage more people to embrace the mud and hills !!

I’ve loved cross country with RAX this season and as captain I want to continue our LUCA dominance, as well as:

- leading grass sessions pre LUCA & BUCS for anyone who is unsure about xc to get experience with the terrain

- organising a trip to Manchester for the Ron Hill xc relays in October

- helping parliament hill xc run smoothly

I have experience in setting up and marshalling xc courses, and good connections with other London uni teams which is key to making LUCA a success (and organising the post-race pub trip!)

For people not yet converted to cross country, I am also very dedicated to social runs. I consistently turn up to Monday and Wednesday and can be relied on to lead or be a friendly face
