Hi everyone,

I’m running for captaincy for the 2024/25 season, and this is what I can bring to the rugby table!

I’ve now been playing for 7 years, which has given me the chance to grow as a player, form a great understanding of the rules and tactics of the game, and assist others in their development. During my time abroad I got to run drills, assist coaches, and provide feedback to players. As captain, I hope to continue this, helping every player become the best version of themselves and be a formidable force on the pitch. Friendly matches with other teams and extra training opportunities are also on my radar.

I’ve also been spending the 2023 season developing a Rugby Union guide for the team, ready for October 2024. This guide outlines the basic rules and laws, position info, common penalties, and extra resources, all presented in an accessible format. I’ve done this as I really want the team to keep developing on and off the pitch.

Aside from this, rugby teams are really rugby families, and I want to foster a tight-knit crew where everyone feels valued and like they belong in this amazing group. Communication is also key to success, and I will ensure that there will be open and organised lines of dialogue regarding training, matches and player development.

I truly believe that my experience and skillset make me a great fit for this role, and I’m excited for the 2024 season!

I am running for Women's Rugby Captain to spread love & commitment for the sport and for this team. I have played rugby on and off for ~5 years and my love for the sport has grown with every team I've played with. Coming into uni off of an injury, I was nervous to come back but UCLWRFC has helped me become a confident player again and improve my skillset; an experience I would love to grant to fellow rugby lovers. I was also previously captain of my high school rugby team which I believe dons me with the skills required to help strive for a season of excellence, camaraderie, and fun!

I believe with a strong leading committee, myself included, this team can continue to flourish and work wonders. Next rugby season, I will be in my 3rd year of university. Having surpassed the heap of my 2nd year and with strong interpersonal relations already established with the existing team I will ensure a commitment to UCLWRFC with regards to time, effort, and communication.

In summary, during my candidacy for team captain I aspire to bring a competitive yet enjoyable experience for all, returning and new, members. I am not afraid to make the difficult decisions that go on behind the scenes for the benefit of the team.

P.S. I don't know who's going to read this... GO UCL!! Can't wait for next season with everyone!
