Punjabi Society: Sales Officer

Hi everyone, I'm Saran and I'm running for sales officer! Being an FYR means I have learnt what goes on behind the scenes in the committee and am confident that I have the skills that are required for success in this role. I am very confident and enjoy socialising with others. Furthermore, previous leadership experiences such as being Chair of my sixth form Strategy and development team and being part of NCS, in which my team fundraised nearly £1000 for a local mental health charity, enabled me to gain experience communicating with sponsors and fundraising. 

I am very proud to be Punjabi and am determined to help plan, organise and promote the best activities to ensure the society continues to thrive and be a strong community which celebrates our culture :)

Hi, I’m Avneet and I am a first-year student studying Economics. I am excited to apply for the role of Sales Officer since I would like to take the opportunity to contribute to the values upheld by our society, with a particular focus on preserving and celebrating Punjabi culture by coordinating various exciting events.

This year, the community was a supportive environment throughout my transition to university. I have personally found the Punjabi society to be a comforting community and I am grateful to all the people I have met while being a member this year. Social events were key in encouraging the community to engage with each other, and I would like to contribute to their success.

As the Sales Officer I would be equipped to manage the finances and keep record of profits as an Economics student with a passion for finance. Having completed a summer internship at a leading financial services firm, I have the relevant financial skills to ensure the society continues to prosper, and I look forward to the opportunity to combine my interest in finance with my cultural interests.

I believe I have the relevant skills to fulfil the role requirements, with organisational, logistical, and effective communication skills ensuring I am prepared to co-ordinate and market events. I am ready to bring my skills, passion and dedication to the role and I look forward to the chance to become the Sales Officer to make a meaningful impact in this society.
