Public Affairs and Social Service Society: Social Service Officer

Hi, I'm Tim, a first-year Pharmacy student running for the position of Social Service Officer. Having been involved in various charities, I understand that there are diverse individuals in need of our assistance. Transitioning to secondary school, my participation in the Quiz Team also granted me a deeper understanding of societal dynamics.

My personal experience of feeling uncertain when entering a new community has made me realize the importance of familiarity as it’s a fundamental aspect of making all PASS members feel safe and comfortable, thus creating a sense of “home away from home”. Therefore, this motivates me to pursue a role as an SSO. I aim to cultivate empathy and passion among our members by organising social service activities such as volunteering and fundraising to benefit the underprivileged, tackle social and environmental issues and maximise our impact on local communities.
