Ruxandra Puscasu

I’m Ruxy, a Year 2 BSc Psychology with Education student. Though I’ve only been a member of PES for a few months, I’m passionate about the field and have been incredibly engaged within the society from the beginning – joining the Empowered Minds Project and the IOE Ball committee as marketing director. These experiences have greatly prepared me for such a role, as they have improved several skills crucial for a president, e.g. leadership, communication, project management, working well under pressure, collaborative work and networking. They have also exposed me to the behind-the-scenes of event organisation, such as working with university departments and the Student Union.

As president of PES, I plan to:

  • Maintain and improve relations with previous collaborators
  • Continue networking to obtain opportunities for new collaborations
  • Organise events (e.g. fairs, panels and talks) accessible to those interested in all areas of psychology, regardless of their level of previous knowledge on the subject
  • Arrange opportunities for those interested in furthering their education in psychology to learn about their different options (UG and PG)
  • Carry on the (soon-to-be) tradition of the IOE Ball

I am running for this position to further enhance the experience of all involved and interested in our society and field. Vote for a president who is reliable, engaged, and wants to continue growing the society for the benefit of all.

Sincerely,

Ruxy, your future PES pres
