Timur Grigorev

With a passion in physics and commitment to the mission of the Physics Society I want to apply my skills gained through being a Social Secretary for Physics Society this year to the role of Vice President.

I hope to make the society more of a social club next year by organising more diverse and vibrant events that will bring our members closer. I also believe that there should be more focus on career events this year, as organising them early would help our members with thinking about their career paths. I hope to have Physics Society collaborate more with other societies and departments, as this would help us create a more interesting range of social and career events.

As the Vice President I would need a huge level of organisational and communication skills, which I believe I have demonstrated when I participated in the EESW engineering competition. I took leadership responsibility and developed effective, personalised communication techniques with each of my team members, this helped me guide the team through a six month long project.

I also hope to use my experience of being a part of the committee this year as the Vice President next year. I have experience in creating discussions during our weekly meetings and helped to organise a wide range of social events, ranging from pub socials to board game nights. I have also been in charge of the Physics Society Instagram posts for the majority of this term!
