Netball Club: Welfare Officer

Hey everyone, I’m Rosie and am in the 2s this season. I believe I’d be a great Welfare Sec for next year and would love to have your vote!

Becoming a member of the netball club is without a doubt the BEST thing I've done since starting uni. The main reason for this is because everyone is so inclusive and supportive. Looking back now, I can’t believe that I was ever nervous walking into the first social! Welfare Sec should be someone who is willing to help and listen to anyone. It's important that everyone’s voice is heard and that they feel comfortable in doing so. As an approachable and caring person, I would fulfil this role and be a friendly face or shoulder to lean on if need be.

As much as we all love Scala, I would organise some more chilled socials focused on well-being and having fun, such as park picnics and coffee dates. Additionally, I think it would be great to get more involved in project active, like the ‘that girl can’ yoga sessions. In terms of volunteering and charity events I would aim to support & fundraise for charities focused on improving mental health, such as 'Girls Out Loud', which aim to empower and inspire young women. I would also encourage everyone to get involved in the Race for Life which raises money for cancer research.

In short, netball should be a social outlet to have fun and build friendships! I believe my unconditional love for the club and for everyone in it would make me a great Welfare sec and keep UCNC THRIVING💜.
