Nature and Conservation Society: Activism Secretary

Hiya!

I would love to become the Activism Secretary to better connect conservation with climate and social movements at UCL.

I am passionate about biodiversity and conservation, but I am a strong believer that interconnecting conservation efforts with activism is essential to achieve real change.

To live in a “ecological” society requires a shift in our culture, economy and political system and through this role I hope to bright inspiring insights into future directions of conservation and the climate movement.

Concretely I would like to connect the Nature and Conservation Society more closely with other environmental societies, organise talks and events about conservation advocacy, and keep the society updated about protests and actions going on. Embracing intersectionality would also mean to explore the links between conservation and feminism, as well as social justice, and try to identify how we can decolonise framings of conservation.
