Isabella Lacaden

Hi guys! My name is Isabella and I’m planning to co-lead with Angelica next year as Accarhythmia managers.

I have really enjoyed being a part of the group so far, and so next year I would love to be involved in planning our activities, such as an Accarhythmia tour and other chiller performances like busking to raise money for charity! Also, I would want to plan more non-performing activities for us to do together like movie nights or karaoke (so we can bond more as a group! XD)

One thing I currently love about the choir is the diversity of songs we sing, so I would want to maintain this next year by welcoming other members’ song suggestions to produce programs that suit everyone’s tastes. I have sung with a wide variety of choirs over the years and performed several contrasting genres in my singing diploma, so I am well versed in the styles and techniques different songs demand and so am very open to any song ideas put forward by you guys.

As well as this, Angelica has a lot of musical theatre experience, so together we can provide you all with some of our *wisdom* we have each gathered over the years and accommodate a wide range of voices within the choir and increase the inclusivity of our group.

Finally, as managers we would continue to uphold the safe space the choir is for medics to bond with each other over their love of singing and we look forward to making this next year in Accarhythmia a fun one for you all :3

Dhanyata Narendra

Hi everyone! I'm Dhanyata and would love to be your manager next year, having been part of Acca since first year 🥺

I've taken a lot from the RUMS Music community, and would like to give back even more by:

  • creating a shared Google Drive for sheet music and audio files (for easy navigation):
    • e.g. 'sop 2' and 'everything but sop 2' → learn parts remotely (ofc still try make it to rehearsals, but y2 gets harddd)
  • varying warm-ups, giving tips on group vocal technique and reading sheet music from experience in cathedral and chamber choirs at school (+ exams 😩): intonation, breath control etc. (maybe one day we can tour and perform internationally 👀)
  • organising more fun socials for us hehe - e.g. movie nights / musicals, karaoke / pot-luck
  • hearing what you want from Acca via a platform for regular feedback (if y'all want) - e.g. song recs, informal tutorials, wanting to contribute to arrangements
  • continuing to be an approachable face just like all the previous managers 🥰

After finishing the dreaded 2nd year, I hope to dedicate my time more towards a society I've been passionate about (weirdly) even before I joined UCL. You can rest assured that Acca will be in good hands!

Maanvii Arya

Hi! I’m Maanvii and I’m running for Accarhythmia manager this year :)

My first year being in RUMS Music (Accarhythmia and Heartstrings) has been amazing and I would love the opportunity to keep Accarhythmia’s high standards going! As manager I would aim for a strong recruitment drive for freshers next year (and maybe even a few older years?) so that we can get as many people involved as we can - and plan on running a few post rehearsal socials for some destressing and musical bonding time :)

Plus, I think it would be great to keep expanding our repertoire with fun, familiar (or not so familiar) music, and my prior experience in conducting and arranging music for ensembles (having done both for an ensemble at school, and doing one of Heartstrings’ arrangements this year!) means I’m open even to everyone’s most spontaneous ideas. I’d hope to also get an Accarhythmia tour running (yay) and even look at collab-ing with some other RUMS Music ensembles - I’ve heard the Lion King has some arrangements for both voice and instrumentalists… Finally, I’d also love to expand our busking opportunities, so that we can keep spreading the musical cheer even when it’s not Christmas! Thank you :)

Angelica Bacani

Planning on co-leading with Isabella, I would love to contribute to the society that gave me the space to sing despite a very hectic schedule (as we all know too well!). My biggest aim is to make Accarhythmia a safe space for us girls to sing and chat about the struggles of med together. I think Isabella and I make a great duo to be welcoming to new and returning members. I would also love to try to reach out to have more caroling opportunities during the Christmas season, and (hopefully) to organize a tour! Being a co-manager would bring me a lot of new challenges that I'm prepared to tackle - in particular becoming more active musically and trying to accommodate to others' voices.

More about myself: I come from a musical theater background, having done productions and extracurricular drama lessons. I also did singing lessons for 6 years on the side, and have enjoyed singing in general since I was very small.

I'm excited about this potential opportunity and I hope you vote for me!
