Sophia Lorvo
Hola! My name is Sophia and I'm a Second-Year Undergrad in Crime and Security Science running for Engagement Officer of the UCL Mexican Society!
As a foreigner who spent three years in Mexico City before coming to London, I have a deep love and appreciation for the country and culture. It taught me the language (and expressions), helped me build a higher spice tolerance, and made Bad Bunny my #1 Spotify artist!
I am running for Engagement Officer because I want to get people engaged with the Mexican society by encouraging them to buy our membership, come to our events, and feel part of a family! I will do this by working with the committee to organize fun events and help spread the word through the society’s social media. The MexSoc has a lot of potential as foreigners (such as myself) are interested in Mexico’s culture, but often do not think to join the society. I will work to show them why they should!
