Hello, I'm Karis. Having participated in the mentorship program,  with the MedTech Society this year profoundly impacted me. The welcoming community sparked a passion in me to contribute actively to the society's growth. I am eager to bring my skills and expertise to the MedTech Society by stepping into the role of mentorship programme chair.

What I aim to achieve

  • An inclusive space where ideas flow freely and a stronger sense of community for all.
  • Offering mentees with a wider variety of mentors in different professions. There will always be something for you.
  • Exclusive opportunities to engage with professionals and attend industry events.

What I Bring to the Role

  • Serving as the Marketing Director for the variety show of Chinese Society, I have honed my skills in effective communication, liaising with different companies with strategic outreach. This ensures that our initiatives reach and engage a wide range of members
  • Being a Medical Innovation and Enterprise student has provided me with a solid understanding of the MedTech field. This enables me to comprehend the challenges and opportunities present in the industry
  • My previous experiences in organizing large-scale activities provided me with the organizational and logistical prowess required to plan and execute impactful events.

I bring not just skills, but heart and passion to make Med Tech society a dynamic and collaborative hub of innovation for all.

Juri Yano

Hi! I’m Juri and I’m running for the Mentorship Programme Chair!

I really enjoyed the mentorship program last year, and want to keep it amazing with some improvements!

I will do this by:

  1. More interaction opportunities between mentees
For example, by organising pre-program get-to-know-each-other sessions, I want to take the program to a networking opportunity with like-minded students.
  2. Feedback form before, throughout, and after the program
I will keep an online form open and accessible to both mentees and mentors to submit any feedback they have. I will also keep progress on the valuable feedback submitted open to you!
  3. Follow-up connection sessions between mentors and mentees
I will organise more online and on-campus networking events post-programme, strengthening easier networking opportunities with other mentors as well.
  4. Mentors’ preferences form
Each mentee can list a preference in mentors/background (study field etc.), avoiding swapping processes later on and getting mentor-mentee match-up done successfully!

Meanwhile, some things I want to maintain with the mentorship programme are:

  1. Small number of mentees per mentor
  2. Providing a suggested framework for each session

Why me?
I had so much fun and learning from the mentorship program last year so I really want to make it even better this year!

I really really want to make the program a better one, so please vote for me!!!!

Thank you so much for reading it till the end!!!
