Tricia Teo

Hi, I’m Tricia and I hope to be one of your Events Officers this year! I’ve benefited from picking up technical skills through MedTech’s workshops and enjoyed multiple socials and conferences during my short time here, hence I want to contribute to MedTech through events planning.

I am excited to work proactively and enthusiastically on events like Hackathons and career talks. Being one who loves the buzzing university life and anticipation of various happenings throughout the week, I believe that Events Officer is the role for me. I hope to continue organising a range of activities from socials to inter-society and inter-school careers events, connecting members with potential mentors in fields like pharmaceuticals and healthcare technology.

I enjoy collaboration and look forward to working in a dedicated team to deliver inspiring and interactive events to participants. From personal experiences, I not only understand, but enjoy the element of unexpectedness that constitutes the planning of events. The challenge to adapt swiftly to deliver smooth-running events drives me, and I hope to be able to do so with MedTech.

If elected, I aim to listen to your voices and form collaborations with the relevant societies in and out of UCL. I want to have events you look forward to attending, afterall, what is a society without it’s members?

Karis Lai

Hello, I'm Karis. Having participated in the Python workshop, mentorship program, and the Medical Gadget Fair with the MedTech Society this year profoundly impacted me. The welcoming community sparked a passion in me to contribute actively to the society's growth. I am eager to bring my skills and expertise to the MedTech Society by stepping into the role of Events officer.

What I aim to achieve

  • An inclusive space where ideas flow freely and a stronger sense of community for all.
  • Ensure a larger variety of topics can be discussed. There will always be something for you.
  • Exclusive opportunities to engage with professionals and attend industry events.

What I Bring to the Role

  • Being a Medical Innovation and Enterprise student has provided me with a solid understanding of the MedTech field. This enables me to comprehend the challenges and opportunities present in the industry
  • Serving as the Marketing Director for the variety show of Chinese Society, I have honed my skills in effective communication, liaising with different companies with strategic outreach. This ensures that our initiatives reach and engage a wide range of members
  • My previous experiences in organizing large-scale activities provided me with the organizational and logistical prowess required to plan and execute impactful events.

I bring not just skills, but heart and passion to make Med Tech society a dynamic and collaborative hub of innovation for all.

Annliya Mathew

Hello! My name is Annliya, I am a 1st year medical student excited to be running for events officer!

I have been a member of the society since starting university and I am thrilled to have the opportunity to play a part in running it.

I am fascinated by the various applications technology can have in the medical field and especially the amazing impact it can have to improve people’s quality of life. During my time at school, I ran a healthcare newsletter and coordinated with various fellow students to help promote the field and encourage younger students to take an interest. I have been a first year representative for the Malayali society and I believe this experience has helped me develop skills needed to run and organise well-planned events that will be valuable for all the members.

If elected, I promise to work hard with the other committee members to have incredible events with a variety of panellists and guests to ensure us all having valuable learning experiences and continue to be inspired by those making big and small strides in the field!
