Candidates

Hamdan Kekere-Ekun

My name is Hamdan, and I'm a first-year biology student interested in medical technology. I am running for this position because I firmly believe that the medtech sector needs more diversity, starting with increased awareness about the industry at the university level.

I am a strong candidate for this role because:

  • I have previous experience working on the NHS youth board, with my specific focus being on mental health in schools and highlighting the lack of attention given to mental health issues within black communities.
  • I understand the importance of listening to a diverse range of opinions and implementing necessary changes.
  • I believe that individuals from various backgrounds bring a wide range of skills that would ultimately benefit the MedTech industry.
  • I want to emphasize that diversity, inclusion, and success are directly correlated and that a wide range of ideas from different backgrounds is better than a few from one or two backgrounds.
  • I enjoy problem-solving and I'm able to think critically within various roles.
  • I believe this society is great, and I'd love to contribute to its improvement.
