Hi, I am Paul a third-year student currently intercalating in Neuroscience! 🧠❤️
Mission:
Neurology is a fascinating field within medicine, encompassing both clinical and rapidly evolving academic areas. Clinically, neurology is extremely diverse with a broad range of sub-specialties, many of which I am very excited to learn about myself & I hope to spread this excitement with a series of talks, tutorials and hopefully a conference to provide a fantastic introductory insight to the specialty.
Having been a member of the subcomittee this year, I arranged the series of 5 NSB tutorials, that I hope helped some of you get to grips with a very daunting module. :)
Aims:
- Continue & Expand Neuro Tutorial Series & hopefully move in-person as well.
- Teaching, and making neuroanatomy easily accessible, is something I am really passionate about.
- Arrange a series of talks on specialties within Neurology and academic research!
- Revitalise the 'Brain Synopsium' Conference! UCL is a world-leading centre for neuroscience and it is such a shame that a student-led conference, combining both clinical & scientific neuroscience, hasn't been run before.
- Establish a shadowing/research experience programme with Queen Square.
Experience:
- Neurology PreClinical Education 23/24
- RUMSHC Kit Sec 23/24
- Neuroscience & Neurology Research Groups at UCL and Imperial

Hi everyone!
Neurology for me is at the heart of all medical disciplines, and I’m excited to be running for neurology chair! My journey through academia, from a neuroimaging SSC to an iBSc in Clinical Neurology at Queen Square, has deepened my appreciation for the neurological subspecialties. My leadership in the Neurology Society core committee and events team over the last two years has given me the foundation, experience and insight to drive its success.
My core aims for the year include:
- Opportunities - CV workshops, research partnerships, mentorship, shadowing and competitions are just scratching the surface of my plans for engagement with ongoing neurology research!
- Events – amplifying current momentum, I am committed to maintaining regular tutorials and educational talks. I will diversify the society’s social portfolio, through collaborations with societies within and around UCL!
- Revamp of the Brain Symposium! – This will facilitate discussions, clinical skills, interactive workshops and networking events, shining a light on the interdisciplinary nature of neurological research!
Above all, I expect society activities to be as dynamic as the ever-changing medical field so am always open to hearing how neurology can be more accessible to students, and what you want to get out of events!
I truly believe that my experiences and leadership positions so far have prepared me to take on the role of Neurology chair, and I hope that my passion for the field shines through!

Neurology is a continuously expanding specialty. Unlike other fields, it embraces a higher degree of ambiguity, and it is precisely this element that interests me. This passion for the specialty is what drives me to run for Neurology chair.
If elected, I aim to:
- Conduct Neurology and Neuroanatomy tutorials throughout the year: Recognising the challenges neurology poses, particularly during pre-clinical years, I intend to organise tutorials. Having actively participated in both attending and hosting these sessions, I understand their significance in making the subject more accessible.
- Foster collaboration with other societies: Drawing from my past experience collaborating with Surgical and Anatomy societies, I recognise the potential for impactful events through such partnerships. This collaboration will enable us to host comprehensive workshops and events focusing on advanced clinical skills and cutting-edge research in the neurology field.
- Advocate for shadowing and research opportunities: Leveraging my extensive experience in shadowing neurologists and engaging in research, I aim to provide valuable opportunities for our members. Recognising the importance of these experiences in both learning and networking, I will utilise my connections with clinicians and researchers both in the UK and abroad to facilitate enriching opportunities for our students.
Thank you for your consideration and I am confident with your support that we will achieve these aims.
