Live Music Society: Marketing and Social Media Officer

Live Music is one of UCL’s most dynamic and diverse societies, and as Marketing and Social Media Officer, my priority would be to further strengthen our online presence and increase exposure for our musicians and the society as a whole. As a singer who dabbles in piano and guitar playing (as well as a frequenter of Jazz and Open Mic nights), I would love to see our musicians have their talents recognised even more widely, not just within UCL but also externally. Making the most of UCL’s prime position in central London, I would work with Events Officers to organise promotional opportunities off-campus, so that our musicians can perform to a wider audience - for those interested, this could even increase their chances of being discovered professionally. Another way I would extend our reach is by reviving our TikTok account to grow our audience (whether you like Tiktok or not, it's still a great marketing tool!). I would also start a social media series focused on behind-the-scenes operations, to get more people interested not only in the performing aspect of Live Music, but also production and planning. This will encourage more people to get involved and explore something new, and will also foster a greater understanding and appreciation for the work put in by the committee. I would love to be an active force driving LM society’s development even further, to keep it at the forefront of everyone’s minds whenever they think of UCL’s best society (I mean, it’s objectively true).
