What do you hope to achieve in the role if you are elected?

As a bisexual woman, my identity has often been invalidated and questioned by those around me. These hurtful sentiments have made affirming moments I've come to experience all the more beautiful and through my role as Bi/Pan officer I hope to support individuals like me who might feel the same way and carve a space for them within and beyond the LGBTQ+ community where they feel safe, affirmed and seen. I understand that bisexuality and pansexuality is a spectrum and wherever a student falls on it, they deserve to be validated!

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

I hope to combine my lived experience as a bisexual individual with the professional skills I've gathered throughout my academic and professional career. Over my exchange year at UC Berkeley, I've worked closely with the Queer Alliance Resource Center in organising events, gathering information regarding gender-affirming healthcare provisions and just being a line of contact for LGBTQ students on campus. These are all ideas I hope to implement at UCL to make the campus a more inclusive space for us.

Please summarise why students should vote for you.

I want to make sure our Bi/Pan students and wider LGBTQ+ student body are accepted and celebrated within the student body, not just made provisions for. I will work to make sure your concerns are heard and vocalised. UCL would not be the progressive university it is today without its LGBTQ+ students. I want to implement more LGBTQ+ events across various departments in the university as well as inter-university events to foster a community across our regional student body.

electric chair for anyone who suggests a threesome upon hearing ur identity.

ok fr tho, there is a very serious lack of support for us here at UCL. it does get additionally lonely being bisexual and feeling like you don't belong. One fun night out in Heaven or Glittoris is not gonna solve the problems we encounter everyday.

i have 2 WLW events coming up. you will continue to find cool drinks and snackies in our events that come once in a blue moon!!

I will also do my part to make sure my people are supported and safe and know where to come if they encounter any issues. :3

What will you bring to this role (e.g. experience, skills or qualities)?

boring stuff:

Until September 2022, I have been an openly queer person in an Islamic country <3 I have a lot of experience defending myself and developed myself w a lot of lawyer skills during this time (also i am entp and love debating so this is fun for me)

plus, i am the current bi rep and know the ins and outs and tea.

the tea:

  • i can rap any megan song by heart
  • i am on good terms with all my ex-girlfriends
  • i love frogs
  • i was the gay awakening of a bride at a bachelorette party (and potentially saved them from a divorce in the future)
Please summarise why students should vote for you.

my parents finally accept me bc of this role.

if you vote for me, you'll be saving me and others from our misery BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, you'll be voting for a woman in STEM (i promise to not be like maggie)

last year, i promised to unite cardi b fans and barbs.

this year, i have visions of uniting the barbs & megan fans (i will use neuroscience to erase the memories of big foot) and making UCL slay again.

also this will look rly good on my CV if I do it for the second time. you want science to advance right?
