Connie Kiew

Hi everyone! I’m Connie, a History undergraduate, and I am standing for LfA Society Treasurer because I’d like to help enrich your experience at LfA! The LfA Society made law more accessible and less intimidating to me in my first term when I was exploring various career pathways and I am excited to further this for incoming and current undergraduates! 

Why me?

I particularly want to run for Treasurer as it aligns with my past leadership experiences. As one of the heads of my sixth form leadership team, I worked with a large team of 18 to organise and execute over a week of school festivities for over 600 people in our school. I was primarily in charge of the financial matters and money-raising aspects of the task, giving students the option of buying a wristband for the entire week or paying at the door. We ended up raising around £2000. This demonstrates my teamwork, organisation and project management skills. 

What I can do for you

• Having attended a variety of insight schemes at law firms like Clifford Chance, Milbank and Linklaters and secured schemes at firms like Slaughter & May and HSF, I can source sponsorships for the society and maintain existing ones
• Ensure budget is monitored effectively to allow for the financing of events 
• Collaborate with the team to allow for continued smooth operations
