Lacrosse Club: 1s Captain

I would love to be the lacrosse captain as I have a great desire to lead and inspire the team to achieve even more success and unity next year! Having played lacrosse for years, I've learned that the strength of a team lies not just in the skills of individual players, but in our ability to work together and play for each other. As captain, I would strive to foster an environment where every team member feels valued, motivated and most importantly has fun in every training and match. I would love the opportunity to be more involved in training and match set-up, and am hoping to improve my knowledge of the game next year by getting coaching and/or umpiring qualifications. Although I have not been as committed to training as I would have liked, I would say I have always turned up with energy, a smile on my face and strived to learn and engage with the training. Even though we have had a tough season this year, I think we have all made an effort to turn up and give it our all, and this attitude will only benefit us next year when we are hopefully no longer in a league with Exeter 1s!

I'm excited to nominate myself for 1s Captain! With a background in lacrosse that includes playing for my national team, I'm confident in my ability to lead us forward. Also, being on the committee this year as treasurer has given me a comprehensive understanding of our team's dynamic and needs. My goal is simple: win matches next season (I'll take anything above 0%).

As captain, I'll be dedicated to ensuring we have the resources we need to succeed, including improving our training facilities by hopefully securing an astro. Additionally, I'll work on increasing player turnout and consistency to strengthen our team. Relegation or not - I think we have a solid chance of winning some matches in the upcoming season!
