Carolina De La Rosa

I am standing because I would like to nominate myself and continue on my position as Welfare Officer for the IR Society for the 2024/2025 academic year.

I believe that I am a good candidate for this position because of the previous experience that I have had with not only carrying out and having this position this year, but also with being in a society commitee in general, as I am also a President of the Bentham Brooks Institute, UCL's first student-led think tank, a Research Programme, in which IR was actually an alliance Society.

As Welfare Officer for IR I would help foster a safe and welcoming environment and would be someone that people can come and talk to whenever they are dealing with any issues within the IR Society or anything in general and they need someone to talk to.

I am really passionate actually about welfare issues and inclusion, as I am the student rep for Dissabilities and Neurodivergencies in the EDI committee within the Anthropology Department, where I helped to adjust the SoRAs stattement within out department.

I also see myself as a good candidate for this position too because of the previous experience that I have had with handling rude and condescending behavior within a society and commitee and how to go about it and communicate that with members. As a continuing Welfare Officer, not only would I continue to be someone that people could come and talk to, but I would also learn from my mistakes this year in not being as assertive as I should have.

Osagumwenro Igiehon

Hello,

I am incredibly passionate about all things politics history and international relations and know that I can make an incredible contribution to our society.

I think I will make a great welfare officer because, above all of our fun activities and events, making sure our society members are safe and happy is my top priority.

I am ready to lend a helping hand if you need, and lend if ear if you need someone to talk to.

Thank you for considering me. I hope to see you all next year.
