Melanie El Daye

As your VP candidate for the UCL International Relations Society, I'm committed to making international relations an enriching part of our university life. Working closely to coordinate alongside the president and other valuable members, my plan includes diversifying speaker events to bring global perspectives right to our campus and expanding field trips to places like the UN, offering firsthand experiences of diplomacy in action. Innovating our social events is key, with cultural celebrations and "Diplomacy Dinners" designed to deepen our enjoyment of international affairs. I aim to empower our 'Circum Mundum' journal with a mentorship program for authors, providing a platform for inclusive insights and scholarly debate. Introducing debate forums on contemporary issues will help in understanding and participation, turning complex topics into engaging discussions for all members. I hope to strengthen our collaborations with other societies to broaden our network, enriching our community with diverse perspectives and allowing for greater networking experiences. Plus, anticipate engaging activities and unique experiences that will make our time together truly memorable! We'll blend academic rigor with practical insights, ensuring a dynamic and fun exploration of international relations.

Luis Santiago Athiprayoon Lerena

Hi everyone! I'm Luis. Lots of you may know me from the many events I helped coordinate this past year as the IR Society's Events Managing Director. As Vice President, I hope to continue the great work done last year by leveraging the connections I've made at embassies and IOs around London, as well as other societies. While this means an even wider range of academic events, I want to socials a greater priority last year.

Last year, we worked hard to build up this society's presence on campus and attract members. Alongside the other committee members who are looking to stay on the team, I want our focus for next year to go beyond building up a society: I want to create a community.

Vote Luis for VP!
