I am excited to run for the position of team captain based on my long-standing love for hockey and extensive experience in the sport. Having played hockey my entire life, I am passionate about the game beyond just playing it. In fact, I had the privilege of serving as captain for my home team, which allowed me to hone my leadership skills and appreciate the importance of teamwork, strategy, and resilience.
I believe that our team has immense potential. With a unique blend of talent, dedication, and the kind of spirit that makes us champions, we can achieve remarkable things, starting with winning our first game! I am sure that with the right guidance, strategy, and motivation, we can harness our collective potential and turn our aspirations into reality.

Quinn Clubb

Hello all,

Looking back at the various teams I've been apart of since my hockey career started when I was 12, the Yetis stands out as the one where I've felt the largest sense of connection with my teammates. Over this season, I have attended every practice, strength and conditioning session, and game, which has helped me not only progress as a player but also bond with the team. That being said, I am ready to take on the additional responsibilities of A team captain.

As captain, I will create practice plans that focus on bettering the team, and that create a fun and inclusive environment for all. Off of the ice, I am prepared to take over stretch and strength and conditioning classes, and I will continue recruitment efforts. Getting to know everyone at socials this year has been a highlight, so I would work with the social secs to plan events.

I hope to serve as the next A team captain to continuing improving team performance, win some games, and have some fun!

I would be honored if you vote for me as your next A Team Captain.

Sincerely,

Quinn Clubb

Preston Hwang

I began playing hockey at age five, fostering not only skills but also leadership and teamwork. What sets me apart though is my seven-year hiatus and subsequent return, giving me a unique understanding of challenges faced by newcomers and those returning to the sport, which would allow me to sympathise and help them out. Moreover, as this year’s assistant captain, I've been in charge of team logistics, running certain practices, and ensuring that everything is in order before games - all of which would contribute to a seamless transition if I were to take over next year. Finally, my international background serves as a tool to bring the players together and create an inclusive team environment. As captain, I aim to create a nurturing, supportive atmosphere that brings out the potential in every team member. Go Yetis!

Dear Ice Club members,

I hope you all doing awesome! My name is Kevin Ji, and I am honored to express my candidacy for the position of captain within our esteemed ice hockey team. Eight years of dedicated involvement in the sport have culminated in this moment, and I am eager to channel my passion and experience into furthering our team's success.

As a fresher, in my interactions with fellow club members, I have come to realize that our ice club is more than just a gathering of athletes—it is a family. It is a safe haven where individuals from diverse backgrounds come together to share their passion for the sport, supporting one another through triumphs and tribulations alike.

If I get the chance to be your captain, I want to keep that caring spirit alive and kicking. I'll be there to listen, to support, and to rally us together, no matter what challenges come our way. Because let's face it, it's not just about the wins and losses – it's about the bonds we build and the memories we create along the way.

So, let's keep the care alive in our ice club. Let's keep looking out for each other, cheering each other on, and having each other's backs. Together, we'll show the Imperial Devils what we're made of and make this season, and the coming varsity one to remember!

Thank you for your consideration, and may the spirit of caring guide us on our path forward.

Warm regards,

Kevin Ji
