Cecile Cornthwaite

Hey everyone! I'm Cecile, a first year Language and Culture student, and I'm hoping to be your HRC social media officer next year! Even though I haven't been a part of the horse riding club for long, I've already experienced the wonderful atmosphere of this group. Being a part of HRC has given me some amazing horsey and social opportunities that I hope to showcase in this role. You’ll also see me up for nomination as welfare officer too so don’t mind if I repeat a few things!

In this position I would be devoted to expanding the club’s social media and curating an inclusive, positive presence through regular posting, follower interaction, and event promotion. Communications are a vital part of this club and it would be an honour to have that responsibility. My most relevant past experience includes

  • UCL Course Representative 2023/24
  • Music Honour’s Society: Social media manager and 11th grade band representative 2021/22
  • US Pony Club advanced level member 2016-2020
  • Multiple years of rehabilitating and training rescue horses, teaching lessons, and competing in jumping and eventing.

As a self-proclaimed horse girl and well experienced leader I’m passionate about becoming the social media officer and creating an engaging, helpful, and attractive social media that will draw in new members and raise our profile in the online space.

My candidate photo is me (with a carrot in my hand, of course) and Justice, who’s a beast on the cross country course but a goofball on the ground.
