Hockey Club (Women's): 4XI & Beginners Captain

Being part of the 4s hockey team has made my transition to university so much easier and enjoyable, which is why I would like to become 4s captain to help others adjust to university life.  

Having been a dedicated member of the hockey club, turning up to trainings and having a fabulous scala record (apart from one week realising that part of uni was actually doing some academic work- oops), I will carry my enthusiasm for this club into next year as captain. Being a captain in team sports throughout school, I believe that I have the organisation and communication skills to lead the 4s girls.  

I have enjoyed the socials so much and would hope to continue to encourage turnout among the 4s girls next year. I also hope to work more closely with the 3s to achieve integration from the start of the year and possibly organise interclub matches to give the 4s more experience of match play. Also, I would work towards making the training sessions skills based so that we can all see progression in our fitness and skills throughout the year. 

Having never previously played hockey before coming to university I appreciate how intimidating it can be to join a new sport, which is why I would love to lead the 4s and welcome new girls next year.
