Hockey Club (Women's): 3XI Captain

Over my time at UCLWHC, I’ve been involved in various aspects of the club and believe my fresher antics have prepared me well for this role. As captain, I would prioritise INtegration within the team and wider club community on and off the pitch.

On the pitch - playing multiple mixed games, up for the 2s when called for and – most importantly - not missing a singular 3s match this season, reinforced my commitment!! Next year, I will ensure that everyone feels included and valued by building on our team spirit.

Then off the pitch – my lengthy Scala streak speaks for itself. But presence at socials, fresher racks/ swim cap/ face paint and gin victim one too many times, exhibit my devotion. Through these experiences I have built lasting, valued friendships with other members, so would actively encourage this into next season. 

Of course, I understand the importance of commitment while Wednesday night shenanigans are always a blast Thursdays are for training!! Next year, I will encourage teammates to attend training sessions consistently as the 3s.be.promoted so developing as a stronger side is crucial for promotion 2.0. I am dedicated to improving in this area and understand the value of self-reflection and growth (especially on Thursdays).

Overall, I’m deeply invested in the success and camaraderie of our club, particularly the 3s. I’m excited about the opportunity to lead as captain and I am committed to working tirelessly to ensure our team thrives both on and off the pitch.
