Hi everyone,
My name is Raveena and I hope to be your next Welfare Officer!
I am running for Welfare Officer because I'm passionate about making our Harry Potter Society the best it can be.
University life is tough; with deadlines, exams, and outside commitments, and I believe having a supportive community can make all the difference.
That's why I'm committed to fostering a welcoming and inclusive environment where every member feels valued and supported.
I found solace in the HP books, and Hogwarts was my home. I hope to make our HP soc feel like a second home to all our society members.
I will also make sure to listen to the concerns of our student body and base my initiatives on your needs. After all, that's why I'm here.
As a med student, and with my experience in UCL medical society, I understand the importance of mental and emotional well-being. I've seen firsthand the impact that a supportive presence can have on someone going through a tough time.
So whether it's lending an ear, sharing advice, or just being there for a chat over butterbeer, I'm here to help lighten the load.
If you vote for me, you're not just getting someone who's dedicated and caring – you're getting a fellow fan who is excited to bring some magic into our uni lives. You won't regret it, I solemnly swear.

The Harry Potter series has always been an important part of my life: it introduced me to the joy of reading and opened my eyes to the beautifully magical world curated by J.K Rowling. My adoration for this magical world motivated me to apply as a committee member so I can further immerse myself in this passion. I would love to be part of the committee not only to expand my social circle within the Harry Potter fanbase, but also to have the opportunity to organize fun and creative Harry Potter-related events for the many Potterheads in UCL, such as movie-screening nights, Harry Potter quizzes, or costume parties, therefore spreading the simple joys of watching and reading Harry Potter to more UCL students. Additionally, I would love to develop my leadership skills and my ability of organising events, and I believe that becoming a committee member and involving more in behind-the-scenes events logistics would give me ample opportunities to achieve that. In secondary school, I participated in plenty of leadership roles that honed my leadership skills, such as being the Captain of the Beach Volleyball team and the secretary of the Symphonic Band, all of which were valuable and memorable experiences that made me want to engage in related roles in the future. I hope that I can use these skills to contribute to the committee and help create a safe space for Potterheads to enjoy the beauties of this magical world.
