Rachel Xin Ying Lo

Hi everyone! I’m Rachel, a first-year PPE student and I’m seeking your vote to be your Vice President for Sponsorships! I believe what makes me suitable for this role is my past experiences with leadership of big groups as well as my keen understanding of what this role demands.

As VP for Sponsorships, I understand that the crux of my role is to support the Head of Sponsorships as much as possible whilst working hand in hand with our club sponsors.

As such, I intend to work closely with my team by:

  • Pitching, leading & supporting sponsorship efforts across the Guild – In doing so, allowing for our society to attract a diversity of sponsors
  • Overseeing & maintaining sponsor-society relations all year-round
  • Maintaining our society’s pitchbook – consistently updating it with new events organised by the Guild so that we are always ready to give an elevator pitch to any potential sponsors! :)
  • Working together with the team to organise sponsor-related events

As for prior experience, I spearheaded a by-students-for-students tutoring programme for 35 underprivileged kids unfairly affected by COVID – managing a team of 20+ volunteer tutors – as well as started a financial literacy programme at my secondary school. I believe this demonstrates my ability to bridge gaps between communities of different backgrounds and hope to further hone this skill when sourcing for Guild sponsors. I would greatly appreciate your trust in me for this role and cannot wait to contribute towards Guild!

Misha Sinev

Make Guild Society great again

Elizabeth Yeung

Over the past year, I have served as a Sponsorship Executive at UCL Guild and have found the experience profoundly rewarding. Given the current economic climate, job prospects are increasingly grim. UCL Guild is in a unique position to allow the student body to network and access opportunities across a range of disciplines. In the coming year, I hope to expand the types of sponsorships that the society holds; as of now, the majority of UCL Guild’s events and initiatives greatly appeal to those interested in a career in financial services – I hope to utilize the society’s resources to broaden the range of events to be more inclusive other fields (e.g., technology, law, etc.). My drive to continue the efforts of the society motivate me to further my commitment and involvement through a more influential committee position.

Joyce Sze

Hi everyone! My name is Joyce, and I’m a first-year sponsorship executive for UCL Guild. This year, I’ve actively engaged in Guild’s diverse endeavours, from managing event administrative logistics to composing for the Guild Gazette. I initiated a collaboration between Guild, LSE Entrepreneurs, and UCL Fashion Business Society for an event on March 14th. This event, featuring the founders of Jaded London, underscores my commitment to inter-society and university collaborations.

As an IMB course representative, I’ve regularly liaised with the department’s faculty to address my peers’ feedback. This role, coupled with my executive role in the School of Management Society, has equipped me with strong leadership and communication skills.

My vision:

1. Broaden Guild’s Sponsorship Range: I’m dedicated to ensuring more diverse career opportunities. I strive to do so by reaching out to firms from a wider variety of industries. I aim to transform Guild into a comprehensive “career hub” that serves diverse interests, while advancing our finance offerings.

2. Foster Stronger Existing Sponsorship Relationships: I plan to renew and strengthen existing sponsorship relationships by actively contacting firms for opportunities.

3. Enhancing Guild’s Competitive Edge: I strive to maximize our sponsorship network by leveraging the strengths of Guild’s alliance, thereby engaging with more firms across different platforms.

Thank you and I look forward to being a part of this new committee!

Tom Pan

As a candidate for the Sponsorship Officer position within the Hedge Fund Society, I am driven by a steadfast commitment to forging mutually beneficial partnerships that elevate our society to new heights. My manifesto centers around the belief that strategic collaborations are integral to our success, enabling us to access resources, expertise, and opportunities that would otherwise be out of reach.

I will make full use of my personal connections as well as alumini network that UCL, my high school and my secondary school offers. I envision a role where proactive outreach and tailored proposals are key to securing meaningful sponsorships. I am dedicated to cultivating long-term partnerships with companies and organizations that align with our values and objectives, fostering a symbiotic relationship that enriches both parties. Through effective communication, creative problem-solving, and a results-oriented approach, I aim to diversify our sponsorship portfolio, ensuring stable funding streams that empower us to deliver exceptional value to our members and the broader community. Together, let us unlock the full potential of collaboration, driving innovation and excellence within the society.
