Gamarjoba!

My name is Mariam, and I am the founder and current president of the Georgian Society.

Managing this society alongside my invaluable and most loyal teammates has been a great privilege. I am extremely grateful for the support I have received over the year from the society members and committee. Making this society happen has been of huge importance to me.

As a Georgian student at UCL, I didn't know many fellow Georgian students or even people who knew of Georgia. Representing Georgian culture and agenda at UCL has been my biggest mission. I have been committed to creating a special and inclusive community, welcoming students from Georgia, foreigners, and Georgians who grew up abroad. I hope to continue this journey as a president next year, with your support.

As a president, I would aim to:

• Organise more diversified events, including more academic, career-oriented and educational events;
• Collaborate with other societies and invite interesting speakers to deliver engaging events;
• Increase engagement on social media, creating educational content about Georgia, such as travel guides, reviews on Georgian restaurants, etc.
