Being part of FoMSF has been the highlight of my year, especially my collaboration with current president Emil and VP Ayman in organising my first fundraiser event, in which I organised the recruitment of more than 100 people who collectively raised 520 pounds and ran 1018 km. I am incredibly proud of this achievement and as President, I would work hard to ensure this would become an annual, respected and looked-forward-to event.

Furthermore, I would continue working on this current success by:
- Increasing speaker events by working closely with MSF and other charities.
- Drawing upon my experience at iNUGSC and applying my organisation and time-management skills to ensure all events run smoothly.
- Utilising my connections with multiple sports teams, such as UCL RAX, cycling, swimming, rugby and rowing. I believe that incorporating physical exercise into fundraising allows simultaneous completion of altruistic goals as well as personal fitness goals in the name of charity.
- Helping to organise socials to ensure the club is welcoming and lively. This includes pizza nights and ice skating socials to promote club spirit, as well as ticketed fundraiser concerts, film nights, jumble sales, knitting socials, pub quizzes and maybe even a fashion show!

Overall, I hope I can foster a welcoming community, in which everyone's voice is valued. I hope my manifesto will inspire future development, and I look forward to working with FoMSF in the upcoming academic year.

Rania Iman Virjee

Hi, I am Rania Iman, a second year PhD student in Cognitive Neuroscience and I am running to be your UCL FoMSF President!

I have always admired the work of UCL FoMSF and I have previously collaborated with the society. As the UCL string orchestra manager in my undergraduate, I organised a Christmas fundraising concert for the World Without Tuberculosis charity in which UCL FoMSF collaborated with us to raise awareness and funds. I would like to further develop these collaborations between UCL societies and beyond to raise more awareness and funds for MSF’s work.

Through my previous leadership role within the music society, as Transition Mentor, and PGTA this year, I have developed valuable skills of leadership, decision making, organisation, creativity, interpersonal skills and effective communication. I wish to foster an inclusive and united feeling within the society and support the committee members in their role and goals. I wish to encourage all students, regardless of their field of study, to engage in UCL FoMSF. In an increasingly interdisciplinary world, the most impactful endeavours emerge from a mosaic of diverse perspectives and talents.

I believe FoMSF can have a real impact on people and society, especially during this challenging time. With a firm belief in the power of innovation and action, I hope to bring my creativity and dynamism to contribute to the meaningful mission of FoMSF, fostering positive change and resilience within our community and beyond.
