Football Club (Women's): Welfare Secretary

Hi everyone, I’m Viv and I am running for the Welfare Officer position for our club! I’ve been playing football since I was six and playing for UCLWFC for two years now. I would love to give back to a club which has made my uni experience so memorable. I've seen how important it is to feel welcomed, included, and represented in this club, resulting in friendships and a positive and safe environment. Thus, my goal is to make sure that this club remains that find of space to support the well-being of every member.  

What would I do?

- Having attended the well-being social partnering with the Brandon Center last year, I found it incredibly valuable for discussing and tackling anxiety and stress. Between teammates, we were also able to open up to one another and get to know each other outside of a field or pub setting. I would like to therefore continue this partnership. 

- I plan to work with the social secs to organize fun and de-stressing activities, including fun movie nights, some non-alcohol socials, themed workshops/activities, etc. 

- I would like to provide resources and tools to promote player’s wellbeing on and off the field, through Instagram and through group chats, so that everyone has those resources at their disposal.

Finally, I value your opinions and/or concerns, so I would make it a priority for those to be addressed (could be anonymous) and relayed to the rest of the committee.
