As a passionate and active member of EELS, I am running to be Welfare Officer next year! This year, I have been Esperanto Officer and have taught Haitian Creole, so I have got to know lots of the members of the society, so I believe I would be a good welfare officer as I am well connected to various members of the society.

I have various ideas for what I would like to do as welfare officer:

  • Acting as a friendly face to whom people could approach if ever issues occur
  • Proactively promoting an inclusive environment in the society, which I have worked on with Orienteering Club this year
  • Raising awareness of various language/cultural days, so people from all backgrounds feel represented in the society
  • Attending various sessions throughout the year
  • Organising various social and welfare events, such as a termly party

EELS has been a major part of my life at UCL, and I have always felt welcome, so I am keen to make sure all other members benefit as much as I have from this wonderful society.
