Alexander Chua

I have had a passion for learning more about the intersection of ESG and business since high school, where I co-founded and was treasurer of a non-profit educational initiative to teach English in rural Vietnam. I continued this interest during my internship at a PE firm where I saw the effect of ESG on investment decisions and also during my time as a student consultant of a sustainability-focused career platform. As a member of the ESG committee, I plan to continue this passion and empower others to do the same. Please give me your support!

Mia Stark

Driven by a deep commitment to ESG principles and the well-being of individuals, as well as experience in leading ski camps and teaching gymnastics to children, I am strongly drawn to the role of Welfare Officer in the ESG Society. My dedication to caring for others is similar to the careful attention I invest in baking delicious treats and comes from a true desire to nuture and support those around me. Through my varied experiences, I have developed a keen awareness of individuals’ needs and a deep understanding of the critical role that inclusive and supportive environments play. I am committed to leveraging these qualities to create a space within the ESG Society where every individual feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute their unique perspectives… whilst enjoying a lovely biscuit or two :)

Matthieu Moissinac

As a candidate for Welfare Officer, I really feel I can bring a dynamic blend of experience and interpersonal skills needed to effectively, and in good heart, address your welfare needs.

For one, my background in non-profit has given me both the knowledge and the keen interest in sustainability and social issues, thus providing me with the understanding of not only the importance of promoting causes concerning the environment and EDI, but also how to do so effectively in different settings. Plus, I have a sense of what some of the limitations of ESG initiatives are, having had experience working with corporate partners within non-profit, and their sometimes half-hearted initiatives.

Meanwhile, my volunteering experience has honed (to some extent) my empathy and problem-solving skills, crucial for addressing your student needs. Moreover, if my experience as a History student has given me anything useful, it's the ability to not only address your needs, but also to actually understand, present and then incorporate your ideas as to how we can improve ESG society.

In this role, I really aim to prioritise the well-being of all members, and make sure your voices are heard and your needs are met. With my not so unique blend of experience, real interest in ESG issues, and dedication to welfare, I am confident I can serve as an effective and compassionate welfare officer. I am excited to hear your ideas, work together, and finally do something useful as a History student!

The Environmental, Social, and Governance Society, through a lens of inclusivity and forward-thinking, aims to create a community that not only acknowledges the significance of ESG values but to actively care for those seek to promote and learn these ideals.

Standing for Welfare Officer at UCL's ESG Society holds particular significance for me, especially given my prior role as Events Executive. This unique opportunity allows me to seamlessly transition from curating engaging events to focusing on the holistic well-being of the students within our society.

Having honed organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills in my previous role, I am well-equipped to navigate the challenges of this position effectively. My commitment is not just to continuity, but to elevating our society's impact by championing initiatives that prioritize the welfare and happiness of every student under the care of the ESG Society.

Keona Ng

Hello, my name is Keona Ng and I'm running for the position of Welfare Officer.

In my current role as the Marketing Executive for the ESG Society, I've dedicated myself to enhancing the society's visibility and engagement. Over this academic year, my responsibilities have included developing marketing content such as Instagram posts and publishing blog articles on our website. This journey has deepened my passion for ESG and social responsibility.

I envision the ESG Society as not just a club but a closely-knit family, where each member feels a connection and has something to take away. Beyond the marketing aspects, I am dedicated to prioritising the well-being of our members and addressing issues of inclusivity and equity within our community. Aspiring to be your Welfare Officer, I aim to create an environment where every member experiences a sense of belonging and support. In this role, I am committed to upholding the values of equity and inclusivity, ensuring that every member feels valued and heard. I firmly believe in collaborative efforts to create a space where everyone can thrive, regardless of their backgrounds.

I look forward to the opportunity to contribute to the holistic growth and success of our the Society.
