Anna Konietzko

Hello everyone! My name is Anna Konietzko and the current treasurer of the ESG Society. I am excited to announce that I am running for the position of Treasurer again.

Throughout this academic year, I gained numerous valuable experiences while deepening my relationships and knowledge from my previous role as a First-Year Representative. I took care of our society’s financial wellbeing throughout the year, co-organized fundraising events such as a bake sale and further supported the development and tasks of our First Year Representatives.

Regarding my past experience, I co-founded a fundraiser financing the education of teachers in Haiti and and exhibit other career-related activities entailing financial planning.

Moving forward, I have following plans for our society:

  1. I want to expand and utilise our network of alumni and invite them for further guest speaker events, coffee chats and skill workshops.
  2. Focus on further facilitating the society’s financial wellbeing through organising bake sales and other fundraising events.
  3. One aspect of our society that I value is its inclusive definition of ESG, leaving room for everyone’s interests, so members can implement their various interests. Hence, I plan to further diversify our events next year, since ESG frameworks apply to sectors such as fashion, nutrition, etc. as well.

Thank you for considering my candidacy!

Alexander Chua

I have had a passion for learning more about the intersection of ESG and business since high school, where I co-founded and was treasurer of a non-profit educational initiative to teach English in rural Vietnam. I continued this interest during my internship at a PE firm where I saw the effect of ESG on investment decisions and also during my time as a student consultant of a sustainability-focused career platform. As a member of the ESG committee, I plan to continue this passion and empower others to do the same. Please give me your support!

Emma Khodykina

Dear ESG members, in the field of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG), openness and accountability are key.

My training in specialised analyst courses and internships in the energy sector, focused on business development, have equipped me with a solid grasp of strategic financial planning. This includes ensuring timely payments and accurately tracking funds, which are key skills for the treasurer role.

Our dedication to upholding ESG principles compels us to approach financial management with sustainability and responsibility. My involvement in diverse roles across societies has provided me with a deep comprehension of the unique funding needs of different functions. This enables me to efficiently allocate resources, ensuring optimal support for all our society's activities.

My commitment to transparency, holistic approach, and strong teamwork skills effectively position me to maintain our societies financial well-being and fully addressing our members' needs. By translating our ESG principles into concrete actions, I plan to forge partnerships with sponsors aligned with our values, thereby enhancing our funding and expanding support for our goals. Electing me as your treasurer means entrusting our finances to someone dedicated to transparent management and committed to turning our principles into reality.

Thank you for your consideration, and hopefully your vote!

Gabrielle Tay

Hi! I am Gabrielle and I am running to be your next Treasurer at ESG Society :)

Having served as Vice-President at UCL Diplomacy Society and Social Enterprise Executive at UCL Business Society over the past year, I am familiar with how societies function and thrive at UCL. I am confident in representing the society at events and I work well in teams. Additionally, I do have a strong network of professionals in the fields of academia, government and the private sector which will be useful for our events.

As your Treasurer, I will:

  • Responsibly manage the society's funds, keeping track of our budget and spendings in an organised manner
    • I have basic knowledge of using Excel / Google Sheets
  • Ensure reimbursements are settled ASAP
  • Work with the President to be a reliable point of contact regarding SU matters
  • Oversee the planning and execution of societal events with the senior leadership team
  • I am looking into starting an ESG Investment Fund here at UCL, though it is definitely subject to further discussions.

Feel free to reach out to me at [email protected] for any questions you may have! Thank you ~
