Energy Society: Social and Marketing Secretary

Hello everyone, I am Haylie and I am thrilled to be your new Marketing Officer. I am deeply passionate about clean energy and the transition to a net-zero society.  My vision is to reduce our dependence on conventional energy without compromising people's standard of living. As a first-year Earth Science student, I have been equipped with the skills to make my vision a reality. I am passionate about creating a clean energy future. Fascinated by the promotion of Carbfix carbon capture technology by the Hellisheiði power plant in Iceland, I have gained a deep understanding of how effective marketing and communications play a crucial role in driving this process forward. Previously, my work experience at the World Green Organisation (HK) helped to promote environmental messages, such as sustainable lifestyles, to the general public. In this role, I aim to share informative content, updates on events or projects, and relevant news articles to educate and raise awareness of energy-related issues, not only with clean energy advocates but also with people who are less relevant to the energy industry, in order to spread our message and gain more support from various industries. Whenever possible, I would like to build relationships with local communities such as schools or NGOs to spread our messages and promote our work and events. In the coming year, I hope to develop effective promotional plans to promote alternative energy solutions on our campus on behalf of the Energy Society!
