Krishan Parmar

I am running for this role because I feel my strong communication skills and personable nature would be a good fit for engaging with all external alumni. I have extensive work experience in a corporate work environment so I know the correct etiquette when speaking to a senior individual.

I believe my personable nature and communication skills would suit the role, and I would be sure to harness my ability to connect with all types of people in order to obtain valuable support for the EFS society.

Being on the mentorship scheme this academic year has opened my eyes to the valuable role the EFS society plays in the wider community at UCL. The breadth of speakers they attract from all walks of life is truly bar to none and this ubiquity truly inspires me. I would be grateful for the chance to serve this EFS community and help to elevate the society's impact even further!

Shreyan Chohan

Hello, my name is Shreyan and I am running to be your vice president of Alumni Relations. Since my first year of university, the Economics and Finance Society has organised events, such as webinars, that have significantly influenced my understanding of my ideal career path. With the knowledge and connections I have obtained, particularly through networking with UCL alumni who hold jobs at esteemed institutions, I aim to bring forward these opportunities to current and future members.

If elected, I will aim to increase the variety of opportunities the society has to offer. I aim to collaborate more with other vice presidents to host more landmark events such as annual alumni dinners, and case study competitions. I believe that by introducing innovative initiatives, we can ensure the success of our members and provide them with valuable experiences that will help shape their careers.

I believe my vision helps ensure that the society can reach its full potential and allow members to make these valuable connections.

Dorian Erlic

Hello EFS members.

I’m Dorian Erlic, an FYR of the Alumni Relations division. Through this position, I have worked closely with the current VP and past committee members in executing events and I have personally successfully reached out to many alumni, renewing their interest in our society - this is the foundation which I seek to build the Alumni Relations Division upon. As such, I seek to continue the current committee’s goals, whilst also strengthening the bond EFS has with its past members.

My agenda for Alumni Relations Division includes:

  • Expanding the size of EFS’ network with its alumni and creating a large community of people from many different companies, as such allowing us to host more specific networking events and workshops tailored to our members’ spring and summer offers.
  • Using our network of alumni to collaborate with other EFS divisions, to aid in their outreach for events and sponsorships.
  • Organising an Alumni Dinner, where our members can make lasting connections with the alumni and celebrate EFS’ 70th anniversary.
  • Increasing the number of networking events, workshops, and panel discussions hosted by the Alumni Relations division, enabling more members to connect with alumni and gain first-hand insights into acquiring internships and job offers.

Thank you for your time and thoughtful consideration.

Sabrina Song

Hi everyone! I’m Sabrina, a first year BSc Statistics, Economics and Finance student, running to be the VP of Alumni Relations for EFS next year.

As my High School Student Council’s Vice President, head of various service committees, and most importantly, a passionate member of EFS, I believe I can thrive in this role. My experiences include communicating with various departments and conducting career-related interviews with my High School’s alumni. I am confident in utilising my communication and interpersonal skills to foster EFS’s bond with our alumni community.

As VP of Alumni Relations, I will act to enforce the following agenda:

  • Unify alumni network through the Linkedin group chat and other forms of social media. I will aim to send out monthly newsletters regarding EFS’ recent activities so that our alumni can feel included in our actions and progress. In addition, on festive occasions, there will also be celebratory messages sent to our alumni.
  • Strengthen connections
    • Between students and alumni: by organising more speaker’s events for alumni to share their professional insights, as well as networking events such as group dinners.
    • Between alumni: by organising EFS alumni social networking events. This will benefit the alumni to expand their professional network, and in turn be more motivated to support current students.

By voting for me, I will be proactive in fostering our alumni network and establishing new opportunities for our society!
