Dodgeball Club: Men's Captain

Hey, Dodgeballers! My name is Hamza, and I'm a second-year Politics student running for the role of the Mens Captain of the UCL Dodgeball Club. From a complete beginner in September 2022, I've competed in two BUCS seasons, Winter Regionals and the North England Open, whilst obtaining my Coaching qualification, and the experience has been phenomenal! But dodgeball is more than just competition for me. It requires a Men’s Captain who is motivated and enthusiastic about investing time and effort in the members of the team to ensure they’re able to enjoy themselves and even perform to the best of their ability competitively.

My leadership in Leeds Owls Dodgeball helped me understand team dynamics and motivate individuals to achieve their best. As Captain, I'll leverage this experience to create a strategic training plan, address individual needs, and build a strong team spirit through different variations of the sport. This, in part with my coaching qualification and my belief that it can help foster an inclusive environment where players of all skill levels feel comfortable contributing and learning, is vital to my purpose as the Mens Captain.

Talent without hard work is nothing. I intend to instil belief and determination into our future UCL Dodgeball Teams, to exceed the current prestige of our UCL Dodgeball Club and contribute to our legacy.
