Firstly and most importantly, I love women's cc! I think you guys are great (you're welcome)

Joining the society and getting involved in both the training sessions and socials has enabled to me to meet so many incredible people, make new friends and try a new sport. The weekly socials outside of training sessions, from the sports nights to the cricket tour, Christmas party and pub quizzes, have all helped me to get involved in the club and get to know everyone better outside of training. Knowing how much it has helped me this is year is why I would love to encourage others from all years to get involved in the socials and create a positive space to make new friends (and to have fun with old ones of course). Starting uni or joining a new club/sport can be daunting, which is why I think the socials are so important, because they allow everyone of all levels in the club to get to know each other, and it doesn't matter what your ability is, you will always feel welcome. Plus the great thing about WCC is that there are socials for all interests :)

Put simply, being social sec sounds like a lot of fun and I would love to have the power to fine you all.

PS: Little Miss Ditsy won't disappoint

Siya Sehgal

Hi everyone,

My name is Siya and I'm applying for the role of Social Secretary for next year.

I'm really looking forward to this opportunity.

As Social Sec, my aim will be to organise a variety of social events that suit all your preferences, whether you fancy a pint or prefer a cosy and quiet night in. Think classic sports nights at Phineas on Wednesdays (followed by Scala if we're feeling adventurous), relaxed pub outings all around London, board game nights, movie nights, crafting sessions, picnics, coffee outings, and more. Looking back on this year, one of the highlights for me was undoubtedly the Bristol tour as it brought everyone together through both wholesome walks around the city and also bar crawls, followed by clubbing. I'm already super super excited for next year's one and would really love to have the opportunity to organise it!

Throughout next year, I want to ensure that everyone feels welcome and has the chance to get to know each other, bringing the society closer together through fun and inclusive events.

Thank you for taking the time to read this!
