hey everyone!

as with many people in the club, the climbing society was a huge part of my life and uni experience last year, the most exciting part always being the trips!

having been on a few uclcmc trips now, I'd love to be more involved in organising them and making sure everything runs smoothly (ish) - more importantly making sure everyone has a good time with lots of laughter and climbing in between!!

for anyone who doesn’t know me, I’ve been away this year on a study abroad (scouting out trip locations) but i’ll be back next year hopefully as a part of the brand new committee :))

see you soon!!

Sam Rajnikanth

Hey guys! I am running for the role of Trip Sec for next year. You may know that we have 3 major trips over the year, i.e., Portland, Winter and Easter. As your trip sec I would ensure smooth running of these trips and try my best to set up additional trips over the year. In specific I would like to set up two additional trips, one domestic trip after exam season in may and a summer international trip over the break. I come with experience in working with the students union at King's as I was the president of the comedy club there during my undergrad and believe I would be able to navigate the bureaucracies of the UCL students' union as trip sec.

Filipa Fay Moreira

Hey guys :)

I’m new to the club, I own only 2 CMC t-shirts (whaaat?), and I am not the most experienced climber, sooo I want to push myself in the role of trip sec both as a climber and as a member of the society. My first experience of climbing outdoors was in October in the Isle of Portland in Dorset and I have such wonderful memories of that trip (cough cough little did I know my experience of outdoor climbing was going to be short-lived because sadly the weather conditions were extremely adverse on the second day but anyway no hard feelings guysss).

The people in this society are some of the most lovely people I have had the pleasure of meeting, and I know that as trip secretary I could facilitate us to keep having an amazing time together, back in Portland and abroad, in the outdoors that we are all crazy for!

Although I don’t look forward to waking everyone up at 8 in the morning, I think I would excel in this role of organising and managing our trips. I have experience organising my own solo travel as well as group trips, I am punctual (like I barely ever snooze my alarm more than once, I swear), I love making lists and spreadsheets, I can pack a surprising amount of stuff into a backpack, and literally all I want to do is climb mountains, swim in the sea and chat by the campfire.

Sometimes I can be shy and I know I’m just a little newbie buuuutttt

Vote for me for the best trips everrrrr yay!

Filipa x

P.S. I promise to practice democracy! Most of the time!
