Elisa Barrere

Hi ! My name is Elisa, I am a second-year Biomedical Engineering student, and I am thrilled to be running for the role of Sponsorship and Volunteering Officer.

Contributing to volunteering initiatives, using my experiences to give back to people who need it the most is something that deeply resonates with me. I am currently a volunteer at Solidarity Sports which is a charity that aims to deliver fun activities to children recovering from complex trauma. I have truly enjoyed my volunteering work there and hope to be able to pursue it further. I am also currently, an after-school club leader, teaching children to create and code their own worlds which has reinforced communication and creativity skills. As Sponsorship and Volunteering Officer, I hope to further enhance engagement and expand our reach, bringing cheerleading to a wider audience.

In my current role as a Marketing Executive for WinF, I've had the privilege of collaborating with our marketing team to design and publish engaging content, cultivating increased interactions with a diverse audience. I hope to use this experience in order to amplify our message to sponsors by promoting UCL Lightning’s initiatives.

I am familiar with working hard on time constrained projects and I am committed to always delivering quality work that I am proud of, on time. I believe my experiences have allowed me to become adaptable, open-minded and determined which I hope to bring with me to this role. Thank you !

Lucy Cuthbertson

Hi, I’m Lucy and I’m in Spark! This is my second year doing cheer, and I’ve had an amazing time so far. Next year I’m eager to get even more involved! I would really love to be your Sponsorship and Volunteering Officer next year because I’d like the chance to make an impact beyond the club. As someone who does Global Humanitarian Studies, there is a lot of causes that I’m really passionate about and I’d love the opportunity to get the Club involved whilst also making a difference.

I also believe I’ve gained knowledge from my course and previous volunteering work that would be beneficial within the role. I have volunteered in a school previously leading an after-school club, so would be so excited at the prospect of continuing the weekly cheerleading programme at UCL Academy. I would like to think that I am organised, caring, enthusiastic and most of all, creative- I already have ideas for some amazing new projects that everyone could get involved in! I’m ready to make a difference and continue the fantastic volunteering work that the club has achieved so far! Thank you for reading and please consider me for your Sponsorship and Volunteering Officer💗⚡️
