Veronika Nikolaeva

Dear Members of the UCL Business Society,

I am Veronika, a First Year Executive running for the Business Society’s Vice President of Social Enterprise. I've enjoyed attending and organising events our events, like the Case Study Workshop by Strategy&, DECA competition and Impact Investment Championship. Those experiences expanded my network, and skillset, and helped me discover my passion for integrating social responsibility with enterprise; which will benefit the Business Society and Social Enterprise division.

In standing for the position of Vice President, my vision is to elevate society's engagement with social enterprise to even greater levels:

  • I plan to spearhead the Impact Investment Championship, ensuring it continues its legacy and expands its reach and impact. This will be done by arranging preparation workshops and case studies to boost participants’ experience and numbers even further.
  • I am committed to hosting a series of events - from panel discussions that bring together thought leaders in the field to workshops that equip our members with skills in social entrepreneurship and competitions that challenge and inspire innovative solutions for societal challenges.

By integrating my experiences, enthusiasm, and vision, I aim to contribute to a Business Society that leads with innovation, impacts with intention, and grows through inclusivity. Together, we can build a more sustainable, equitable, and entrepreneurial future.

Sneha Acharya

Hi!

I am Sneha and am a first year student doing a degree in physics, maths and Stats. As I come from a developing nation, Nepal, I have witnessed the present-day importance of social enterprises in shaping the society. So as a VP of Social enterprise, I want to help the society conduct events that bridge the young entrepreneurial mindset of UCL students to the right global market.

In my gap year, I worked with the international network of Impact Hub when designing business plans for companies that addressed disaster-related and plastic related issues in rural regions of South Asia. This experience kept me in a 6-month incubation program and taught me how social businesses operate. It also got me excited to enter an altruistic field.

Now, I want to use my understanding and collaborate with other international companies to inspire more UCL students to pursue a career in the field of social causes and help students get exposed to how businesses in the internationally less-developed parts of the world work.

So, along with continuing the existing events, I will help the society expand its collaborative network to successful international social enterprises.
