I am driven by a profound commitment to foster an inclusive and dynamic community where every member's voice is valued and heard by representing my peers in the same year. My vision centers on three pillars: engagement, advocacy, and collaboration. First and foremost, I aim to enhance member engagement by facilitating regular communication channels, organizing engaging events, and creating platforms for constructive dialogue through social media platform. Allowing the committee to get a direct feedback from the members.  Furthermore, I will serve as a steadfast advocate for our community, amplifying the concerns and aspirations of our members to the society's leadership. Finally, I am dedicated to fostering collaboration both within our society and with external partners, leveraging our collective strengths to drive meaningful impact in research, education, and outreach initiatives. Together, we can realize our vision of a vibrant and inclusive Biomedical Sciences society that empowers every member to thrive and contribute to the advancement of science and society.

Amelia Tai

Hi everyone! I am Amelia Tai, currently a first-year BSc Biomedical Sciences student. I am running for the Year 2 representative for the next academic year. I believe in the importance of building a platform for collaboration and the exchange of ideas when it comes to achieving organisational objectives. An organisation's success is heavily defined by its ability to meet the expectations of the community within the society, whether it be the effectiveness and quality of the career opportunities or the social events it offers. Thus, I want to increase the scope of member engagements. By playing the role of a year representative, I want to be able to relay your feedback and perspectives to the committee to allow opportunities to be better catered to members in terms of supporting your personal and professional development. This aligns with my passion for proactively driving positive changes within an organisation to meet standards.

I have extensive experience working in various team settings where I collaborated closely with diverse groups for event planning and participant outreach. These experiences developed my communication and interpersonal skills, which will allow me to engage with students and articulate valuable ideas to the team to promote improvements and solutions. I am also able to increase student awareness of events that are of interest. Overall, I am confident in my ability to be the voice of my peers to create a meaningful university experience for you.
