Basketball Club (Women's): BUCS 1st Team Captain

I am standing because I think I would be a good fit and I am here next year. Going forward, I would like to take up more responsibility off-court and become more involved in the club as I have had a great time playing this year.

Having been a part of the team for the past 2 years, I have developed a deep understanding of the dynamics, strengths, and areas for improvement. This familiarity allows me to provide tailored captain strategies that can benefit me and also the team. My experience has allowed me to build deep connections with my teammates, creating a positive and supportive environment. This combined with my excellent sportsmanship allows me to prosper as a role model on and off the court. 

Being captain for my secondary and sixth form teams will inevitably benefit me in this role by providing me with sufficient experience. During my captaincy at school, I was able to communicate effectively yet also take criticism from my team so we could grow collectively. This allowed us to resolve conflicts and helped foster a cohesive team atmosphere. I would like to replicate this at UCL and ultimately help our team flourish. 

I’m very committed to hard work and continuous improvement. Therefore as captain, i would provide guidance, support, and encouragement to my teammates, helping them reach their full potential. My leadership qualities, combined with my experience and passion for the sport, will mould the perfect fit for captaincy. I have developed a love for UCL basketball and will love to continue my part in it for my last year. Thank you for considering my application.
