Hello… I am Arian, if you don’t recognise me maybe it’s because you don’t turn up to lectures otherwise you’d definitely always see me there listening attentively.
My aim is make maths the popular and entertaining subject that it deserves to be. Us maths students have been looked down upon for far too long and I’m here to change that because we deserve respect; as the most difficult stem subject we should get more recognition for our tough endeavours by choosing this degree.
Voting for me means that your popularity level will be boosted so high in your social group that people will start wishing they were you (a very cool maffs student).
I’m here to show that there’s more to us than deltas and epsilons, so let me show that side of us to the rest of the university.
I’d love to get the chance to become a part of ADM and start contributing personally to the society.
Growing an Instagram art account to over 10k followers has honed my content curation, audience engagement, and client relationship skills. I’ve developed a nuanced understanding of consumer behaviour, adapting social media strategies based on engagement metrics to maximise impact for my account. Landing a Social Media internship with a charity, I devised a brand new social media strategy, and established a cohesive brand aesthetic by creating a new set of Canva templates, enhancing marketing efforts, which I hope to then apply to ADM.
As the former president of the Film Society (in sixth form), I orchestrated large-scale film screenings, refining marketing skills by creating various promotional materials. I personally engaged with students by pitching events and distributing cinema-style tickets, which significantly increased audience turnout. This hands-on experience has equipped me to not only create compelling content but also to effectively connect with and influence the target audience, which is what I think ADM could benefit from even further.
Combining all of these, I believe I have what it takes to be Publicity officer. As someone who is really passionate about engaging with my own degree subject - and the fellow mathematicians within it - I believe I would be perfect for the role.
