Hi, I'm Anika! I'm from Hong Kong and I'm studying Chemistry. Like many of you, I've found that I don't like my degree, which is how I've discovered my love for consulting. While I dread going to labs, I find working on my consulting project rewarding: my current client as a 180 consultant is Involve Nepal, and knowing that my work is going towards helping vulnerable communities and actually rebuild! villages!! is very exciting to me.
I'm also confident that I'll be able to organise high quality events and introduce more society activities, to help you guys network, meet new friends, and learn more about consulting. I know consulting can seem confusing and intimidating to new members, so my events will help ease them in and learn in a friendly, welcoming environment. I've spent the last year as the Social Secretary for Asian Social Network and organised weekly 3-4 hour events - which involved planning, reaching out to societies to collaborate, setting up before and cleaning after each event - for people to make friends and connect with their culture, so I'm confident in my ability to organise events!
Hello! I’m Max and I am running to be your next Events and Partnerships Director! Over my first year, 180DC’s events have impacted me positively, from learning during the Case Club in the first term, working alongside fantastic teammates as a consultant with partnered companies, to connecting with incredible and friendly members of the society.
In addition to my consultant role at 180DC, I am involved in the UCL Guild as a First Year Representative and currently serve as the Treasurer for the London Culture Society. These experiences have allowed me to gain an understanding about how a UCL society is run as well as providing me with a broad perspective on diverse student interests.
If I am elected, I will focus on these areas:
- Continuing the beginner and advanced Case Club, creating a friendly environment to assist newcomers in discovering their passion for consulting and launching their careers.
- Create specialised workshops to complement case studies, addressing key aspects of the industry’s recruitment process, such as CV workshops and guest speakers.
- Organise more member socials and networking events to strengthen 180DC's community bond.
I am committed to making a meaningful contribution to 180DC by creating engaging, valuable, and inclusive events. I am excited about the opportunity to impact our community and to extend the reach of 180 Degrees Consulting.
I am thrilled to submit my application for the Events Director position. With a robust background in organizing successful events, and a passion for networking, building, and maintaining professional relationships, I am eager to contribute my skills and experiences to enhance this society's event portfolio and foster meaningful connections within the consulting industry.
My participation in hackathons, such as with Worley, has not only honed my problem-solving abilities but has also provided me with valuable insights into the dynamics of collaborative events. Additionally, my engagement with various career events has allowed me to establish connections with professionals from renowned consulting companies such as Deloitte, Worley, and PWC, whom I am eager to leverage as potential speakers for our events.
Friends and family have described me as reliable, adaptable, and outgoing; 3 characteristics I am confident will ensure the effective organisation and execution of engaging events that cater to the interests and challenge of our members. Furthermore, my experience in leading multiple societies during my high school years has equipped me with strong organizational, leadership, and public speaking skills, ensuring seamless event coordination and delivery in fundraisers.
I am excited about the opportunity to leverage my skills and experiences to curate enriching events that facilitate learning, networking, and professional development within the consulting sphere.
